Please Vote Democratic Tomorrow

The Democrats haven’t delivered what they promised. But the Republicans promise disaster, and they intend to deliver it.

Timid do-nothing Democrats are better than fanatical do-anything Republicans who want to tear down our social institutions and take us back to the year 1800. (Not all Republicans are like that, but the ones who are like that seem to be in charge.)

If you think that “Tea Party” people might be right to tear down the government, check the Government is Good Web site.  It explains the big issues calmly and in a non-partisan way.

But please vote. And please vote Democratic. It really will make a difference.

I agree. With your first sentence.

Government isn’t the problem, now. The size of government is, and so is the way the government is trying to take over large chunks of our lives.

I think Nancy, Harry and Barry are the problem. I think we can get Nancy out of the SOTH position (though we can’t fire her completely, I’m afraid), Harry out as Senate Majority Leader, we can restore some sanity to what government is for. Right now, we’re headed toward being another Greece…

      Hi, David —

Well at least we agree on the first sentence. 🙂

And I know we agree about the goal of a better life for everyone. We don’t quite agree about the way to get there.

But I’m starting to wonder if either major party does much except make promises to get elected and then forget about them when the election is over. The Democrats have done some things I like, though they’ve always stopped halfway, such as with health care reform and stimulus to create jobs. They’ve done other things I don’t like, such as not ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And the Republicans don’t seem to have done much except try to obstruct or water down everything. I can only trust that things will work out somehow.
